I have been grooming professionally since November 2015 but also started grooming cats in 2021 and trained at KD Studios in Somerset by Kelly Davis, one of the leading trainers in the UK. I’m trained and qualified in cat grooming and cat first aid. It is important to hold recognised qualifications as they don’t just cover how to style or hold the cat, but they also ensure a groomer understands the importance of cat safety and welfare.

I believe that like humans every cat is an individual and should be treated as such. I offer a bespoke 1-2-1 personal service with only your pet/s in the grooming salon during their visit. I also offer a collection and drop off service to anyone without a suitable vehicle to transport their pet.

Being a groomer is not just about the groom, it is about working with you the client for your pet’s needs, minimising stress levels and making it enjoyable.

Why do we need to groom cats when for years they have cleaned themselves?

Years ago, the roads were not as busy as they are now, so now more cats are house cats just like mine, because of this they are not going through bushes and the undergrowth which used to remove dead hair, so this now builds up in their coat causing matting or just a heavy dirty coat.  With cats grooming themselves they digest all the dead hair and bring it back onto the carpet as a lovely furball, or poop more often to remove the hair from the intestines.

When cats groom themselves they are spiting on there coats leaving behind dander which presents itself as a white dust on there coats, it is also what we as humans can be allergic too, having your cat bathed keeps this under control.

Benefits of having a professional groom: -

  • Removal of dead hair or matts, improving their digestive system and skin. Stops furballs and extra poop, less fur around the house.
  • Greatly reduces flea and mite infestation which reduces skin irritation, with a clean open coat fleas are easier to see.
  • Reduces matting which causes pain and cats can self-rip, which is pulling the matt out themselves, in turn damaging their skin.
  • For long hair cats or elderly cats having the hygiene area clipped helps which keeping it clean.
  • For cats that might not go out as often, and therefore wear down their nails, it is vital to regularly trim the nails to prevent them growing make into the foot, and potentially costing a large vet bill and infection. This is very common in elderly cats. As such we do offer nail trims separately or as part of the groom.

Our services include, Nail trimming, ears and eyes cleaned, de-shedding to remove dead hair, clipping, de-matting, bathing, trimming bottoms, tummy, and pads, and all this is tailor made for your breed of cat.
