Spiriteddawn Kennels Terms and Conditions of Business

Dogs are only accepted for boarding under the following conditions and clients will be deemed to be accepting of these of these terms and conditions by continuing with their booking.

Liability.

Whilst every possible care is taken, no liability can be accepted for any loss, damage or injury to any animal or property. We will give each and every dog on our premise all possible care and attention, but all dogs are boarded entirely at the owners/ responsible person’s risk.

Whilst every care and attention is given to each dog boarded at our kennels, we can’t be held responsible for loss of life or illness from whatever cause. All pre-existing medical and behavioural conditions must be declared at the time of booking and no later that the start of their stay at the kennels.

In the event of an illness or accident the dog/s will be taken to or attended by our veterinary surgeon, you give your permission for our vet, to contact your usual veterinary surgeon for any clinical history available. The veterinary surgeon’s professional opinion will be deemed as being in the dog’s best interest.

In an emergency or illness, the kennels will contact the owner or their nominated emergency contact.

Vaccinations and other Preventative medicines

All dogs must be fully vaccinated and free from any contagious/ infectious conditions, these are to include, Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Para Influenza.

All vaccination certificates must be up to date and cover the full duration of your dogs stay, we will require proof of this, either in the form of the certificate or a signed letter from your vet.

Titre test certificates will be accepted as long as their dates cover the full duration of the dogs stay.

Intranasal Kennel Cough vaccines must have been given 10 days prior to the dogs stay, however, this vaccine is considered optional, and therefore at the owners/ responsible persons discretion.

Where possible we request that all dogs are treated with an approved flea treatment and wormer at least a week before their stay, in the event of a dog in our care requiring flea or worming treatment, an additional charge will be made for this.

Medical conditions

All animals must be fit and healthy, and any ongoing veterinary investigations must be discussed with the license holder prior to the dogs stay. We reserve the right to refuse any dog that we feel is showing signs of ill health, pending advice from a veterinary surgeon, for which the dog’s owner/ responsible person will be liable for any additional charges incurred.

PLEASE NOTE any dog showing signs of Kennel cough or any other contagious/ infectious disease will be refused.

Any existing medical conditions must declared, and any medication required must be supplied with clear instructions on its administration. There must be sufficient medication to cover the duration of your dogs stay.

Behavioural Problems

You must declare any known traits or vices that your dog has. Where a dog is deemed to be dangerous during its stay your emergency contact may be asked to remove the dog from the kennels.

Owners/ responsible persons will be liable for any damage inflicted upon staff or property.

Fees and Payments

Our charges are the same for all dogs regardless of breed or size, as all dogs will receive the same level of care and attention.

Non refundable booking deposits are required at time of booking.

The remaining boarding fees are payable upon arrival at the kennels, any additional charges incurred are payable on departure.

A 0% pre-payment plan can be agreed at the time of booking to spread the cost of your dogs stay, so that the full boarding fees are covered no later than the start of their stay. These fees are refundable in the event of unavoidable cancellation, except for the booking deposit.

Food

We encourage owners/ responsible persons to supply their dogs usual dog food, and enough to last the duration of their stay.

In the event of failure to do so, you will be asked to sign a declaration stating that you are happy for your dog/s to be fed on a food supplied by the kennels, this currently being Spiriteddawn kennels grain free Salmon and Trout, this will be at additional cost to you.

General Conditions

Only animals from the same household may share accommodation and only with the owner/ responsible person express consent in writing.

All dogs must wear a correctly fitted collar, with ID tag attached.

Dogs must be kept on leads when arriving or departing the kennels.

If you are unable to collect your dog in person, then a representative may collect on your behalf, however, we will need to be notified beforehand. The representative will be required to pay any additional fees incurred during your dog’s stay, and will need to bring proof of identity with them.

Any dog not collected on the due date, and after numerous attempts to contact both the owner/ responsible person and their emergency contact, will be deemed to have been abandoned and local dog warden and RSPCA will be informed. In any case liability for additional boarding and other costs will remain the responsibility of the owner/ responsible person.
