Group Dog Training

Here at Spiriteddawn Kennels we understand the need for a well trained and obedient gundog, not just for the working field but also as a working pet gundog although we cater for all breeds.

We offer training to help you achieve this, along with homework between sessions.

We are fortunate to have Jonathan Nightingale as our lead trainer, a former gamekeeper who has been training gundogs for over thirty years. Jon specialises in spaniel & retriever breeds. He competes in Field Trials and can be seen during the season picking up on shoots with a variety of dogs.

Jon made up home bred Cocker Spaniel Spiriteddawn Midnight (Guinness) to FTCH and qualified him three years consecutively for the Cocker Championships.

He most recently has run a Springer spaniel and won a Novice Trial and finished third in his only Open Trial in the dogs first trialling season aged 17 months.

The following season, the same dog whilst being trained and handled by Jon went on to gain numerous awards again in Open field trials.

He has trained and won with many different dogs in both Novice and Open Trials and trained clients dogs which have also gone on to win and become FTCH, he has also trained dogs for export to clients worldwide.

Upon completion of the four levels, you and your dog will be ready to enter the shooting field, whether beating, picking up or sat on the peg. You will also be at a standard to enter a Novice Working Test.
